What to expect with Wild Will
At Wild Will, theatre doesn’t wait on a stage. It roams, surrounds and surprises. You won’t simply watch a performance, you’ll walk alongside it, breathe it in, and become part of it. Expect something thrillingly different.
Outdoor theatre
Our productions unfold under open skies, in woodlands, meadows, and hidden corners of the countryside. You’ll follow characters through natural landscapes, where the boundaries between reality and fiction blur.
Immersive outdoor theatre means you're not seated in rows or watching from afar. You're moving with the story. You may find yourself in the middle of a masked ball one moment, and following a torch-lit procession the next. You’re not a passive observer – you're an essential part of the unfolding tale.
Outdoor, ambulatory, immersive theatre is a thrilling experience to remember. Audience members are asked to prepare accordingly.
All productions are outdoors and there is no protection from the weather. Warm clothing is recommended for evening performances. Performances will continue unless the weather is deemed dangerous.
There maybe walking between sets along uneven ground. No seating is provided and audience members may need to stand for the entire production. Audience members are welcome to bring their own seats or rugs.
Embrace the show
What makes it immersive?
You’re in the story: Our performances are designed so that audience members shape the rhythm of the experience. You’ll follow the action on foot, guided by intrigue.
All senses engaged: Expect the rustle of leaves, the scent of wild herbs, music carried on the breeze, the landscape itself is a character.
Unique every time: No two shows are the same. Weather, light, and audience decisions shape each journey. It’s theatre, but not as you know it.
What to bring and wear
Footwear: Comfy, sturdy shoes or boots are a must. You'll be walking through fields and trails.
Clothing: Dress for the elements. Layers are wise, and waterproofs are often essential. No one ever had too many hats....
Light source: Some experiences involve evening performances – a torch is a handy companion.
An open mind: Curiosity is your best gear.
Who is it for?
Whether you’re a seasoned theatre-goer or brand new to performance art, Wild Will invites you to experience stories in a more primal, elemental way. It’s ideal for adventurers, families, and anyone seeking something real and raw.
