Wild Will is run by volunteers and funded by donations, ticket sales, sponsorship and grants.

Our primary aim is to reduce costs to access high-quality theatre performances and to conduct outreach work with those who may not have access to engaging theatre.

Please show your support by volunteering, sponsoring or donating to our charity.

Actors and cast

Wild Will is made up of a wonderfully diverse group of volunteers from the South West Devon area, each bringing their own unique backgrounds and experiences to the table.

Our passionate and talented performers include people from the Holbeton Players and Modbury Players, students from local schools and sometimes Hollywood A-listers. We come together with a shared love of the arts, a commitment to supporting the community and having fun. The variety of skills and perspectives within our group creates an inclusive, dynamic atmosphere where creativity thrives and everyone’s contribution is valued.

We have been joined in past productions by Jeremy Irons.

Production team

Our Creative Director, Rob Heyland, has had an extensive acting career including working with the Royal Shakespeare Company, script writing and running theatre companies including the New End Theatre in Hampstead.

Our amazing production team volunteers bring a wealth of experience that they have gained through their professional careers as well as up and coming students from local schools.

We have stage managers who have worked with the likes of the Theatre Royal Plymouth to Ridley Scott.

Through working together on Wild WIll productions we offer opportunities to learn new skills in stage production, costume, and sound and lighting design.

Front of house

The front of house team at Wild Will play a crucial role in providing an efficient, welcoming and helpful reception for all our audience members.

Dedicated volunteers, they handle everything from managing a licensed bar to overseeing ticket sales and food services. By engaging with guests and supporting the production, the front of house team is crucial to the enjoyment of our theatre experience.

Finance and sponsorship

Wild Will is self-funded through ticket sales, donations, and the generosity of our sponsors.

This financial structure enables us to keep our productions accessible while ensuring the continued growth of our vibrant theatre community. We value partnerships that align with our mission to engage and inspire audiences and we are continually seeking new sponsors to support our outreach initiatives. Your contributions can make a significant difference, allowing us to provide subsidised tickets and broaden our impact in the local community.

Educational outreach

Outreach work is part of our charity mission.

This includes going to schools to teach Shakespeare in a dynamic and exciting way - as a theatrical experience - the way it was meant to be experienced.

There are opportunities for people to come and take part in shows, either acting or as part of the creative or production team.

Subsidised tickets for those who may not usually be able to experience outdoor theatre are always available.
