Megan's Story
Before I started working with Rob and Wild Will, I was in a bit of a rough patch. After leaving university, I felt completely unsure of where I was heading. I knew I wanted to work in the Art Department—building and dressing sets has always been a dream—but I’d lost confidence in myself and in my ability to make that dream a reality.
Then I joined Wild Will, and everything changed.
Since starting this project, my confidence has skyrocketed. It’s like I’ve been given a new lease on life. Rob’s encouragement has been nothing short of amazing. Any time I’ve doubted myself—especially when I wasn’t sure if the Jerusalem set looked right—he’s been there to tell me it looks incredible. He trusts me, and that trust has allowed me the freedom to bring my own creative spin to the design. I’ve had near-total creative reign over the set, and it’s been one of the most fulfilling experiences I’ve ever had.
Working on Jerusalem has completely reignited my love for theatre and the art of set building. My ultimate goal is to help create worlds that transport people—whether they’re in the audience, on stage, or behind the scenes. And the best part? Rob never says no to a wild idea. From spray-painting deer heads gold, to crafting fake bags of drugs, to making prop bags of fish—it’s all been encouraged, and I’ve loved every second of it.
This project gave me the boost I didn’t know I needed. It reminded me that I can do this. Whether I go into theatre or film, I now believe I can step into any role with creativity, confidence, and purpose.
Finally, I want to give a huge shoutout to my two prop magpies, Piers and Pete. No matter how out-there or chaotic my requests have been, they’ve somehow found exactly what I needed. I couldn’t have created the world of Jerusalem without them, and I’m beyond grateful for their help.
